Unless you’ve been in absolute seclusion, you are aware that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has just arrived in theatres and is giving the film franchise’s fateful contingent something new to be giddy about.

Well, before the world received “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the cast of “Downton Abbey” created a pair of spoofs earlier this year, including “Downton Wars Episode 1 – The Phantom Valet” and “Downton Wars Episode 2 – The Evil Butler Strikes Back.” No, the cast didn’t make these mini online movies for fun between takes, rather they were the brainchild of the show’s Rob James-Collier (Thomas Barrow), as a way to raise money for the Chilterns MS Centre in the UK.

In the pair of clips, cast members Brendan Coyle (John Bates), Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith Crawley), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary Crawley), Maggie Smith (Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham), James-Collier and more make appearances. Some wield lightsabers, while others just wield witty, hilarious and ridiculous banter. You’ll have to watch the videos below to find out who does what.

This isn’t the first time “Downton Abbey” has made a splash with a video for charity. In 2014, George Clooney appeared in a nine-minute episode of “Downton Abbey,” as part of the UK’s Text Santa initiative.

Beginning Wednesday, February 3, 2016, VisionTV will be presenting encore performances of the fourth and fifth seasons of “Downton Abbey.” Shortly afterward, we’ll be premiering the sixth season. Stay tuned – for the force of “Downton Abbey” shall be with you soon.
