To help mark Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, a new edition of Cancer Saved My Life will premiere on Monday, Nov. 14, 2017 at 9pm ET, followed by a new episode of theZoomer on Pharmacare, hosted by Libby Znaimer.
“Cancer Saved My Life” is a 60-minute documentary that explores Libby Znaimer’s personal fight against breast and pancreatic cancer. Learn about the BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 gene mutations that pre-dispose people to pancreatic cancer, and the connection between BRCA and breast and ovarian cancer. Learn about ground breaking research going on in Canada and Israel, where there is a BRCA-rich population. Witness carriers of this mutant gene sharing their stories about agonizing over of whether to remove their breasts and ovaries as a preventative measure, like Angelina Jolie famously did.
