Higher Ground - Show LogoJoe Lando (Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman) is Peter Scarbrow, the director of Mt. Horizon High School, a last-chance outdoor adventure school for kids dealing with a variety of problems. Located in the Northwestern U.S., Mt. Horizon is a safe haven for troubled teens who have suffered abuse or have been involved in crime to be rehabilitated and grow into adulthood.

Originally aired in 2000, Higher Ground follows the stories of The Cliffhangers, a group of Mt. Horizon students who each have their own background, issues and troubles to contend with. The cast includes Canadians Hayden Christensen, who later played the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, and A.J. Cook, who has since gone on to play the role of Supervisory Special Agent Jennifer JJ Jareau in CBS’s Criminal Minds.
