Inside Israel with ICEJ

ABOUT ICEJ

“Comfort ye, comfort ye My People” – The quote is taken partly from Isaiah 40:1-2. It was the “mandate from heaven” given to the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem three decades ago. It also includes an exhortation that appears to be a contradiction, at least if one applies it to the modern day context. This exhortation says:

“Speak comfort to Jerusalem and cry out to her, that her warfare has ended …..” Isaiah 40:2

For over thirty years the ICEJ has embarked upon a journey of giving comfort to Israel. This journey has involved deeds and compassion and every town, village and city has been impacted, in some way, by our benevolence ministry that has helped the poor, healed the sick, housed the lonely, encouraged the children and cared for the elderly.

Our Feast of Tabernacles celebration has impacted more than a hundred thousand Christians with the biblical perspective of recognizing the hand of God in Israel’s modern day restoration and the need to work with what God is doing, and bless it. As I have written before, we are thankful to God for His faithfulness. We have not done our work perfectly but we have done it sincerely. “The Day” at the judgment seat of Christ will determine its real value! Of this too we are most mindful and so should we all be!!

ABOUT DONNA HOLBROOK
Born into a strong Christian family, Donna came to understand the personal relationship of which God speaks, following the loss of their 3 weeks old infant son Jeremy. A long term member of TACF, she received much prayer and healing, which preceded her first trip to Israel in 1996 with ICEJ. God got her attention for His plans for her life – Jeremiah 29:11.

Starting with a degree in music [pipe organ] and psychology, Donna taught Grades 3 – 8, co-founded a ladies’ clothing wholesale agency, & was a stay at home mom with Meredith [now 19] when life took this unexpected course. When the Canadian branch of the ICEJ was closed down in 2001, she stepped in to bring it back to life.

Nearly a decade later, ICEJ Canada is a vital part of this 30 year Christian ministry to Israel from Jerusalem & 60 Int’l branches. The ICEJ hosting of the 31st Feast of Tabernacles 2010 makes this Donna’s 26th trip to Israel. Donna has a heart to build bridges of friendship between the Jewish & Christian community, to help fight the evils of Antisemitism, to educate on God’s eternal promises to Israel for the redemption of all people & to get as many people to Israel as possible, especially young adults where she has seen lives transformed. To God be all the Glory Given!
