Celebrate the Season with Vision’s Four Weeks of Christmas

VisionTV Four Weeks of ChristmasIt’s here! The season of giving, loving and celebrating with family and friends has arrived and this year, VisionTV is transforming into The Nation’s Christmas Station for four weeks of very special holiday entertainment. Settle in, get cozy and warm your heart with classic British Christmas humour, magical movies every weeknight and spectacular musical events.

Plus, we’ve got your chance to fill your stocking with a whole library of great home entertainment this season. Check out our Have Yourself a British Little Christmas Contest for 2012 and enter for your chance to win!

The star on top of our tree is our brand new, two-hour retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale of personal redemption, A Christmas Carol, with A Christmas Carol Holiday Special, premiering Monday, Dec. 17 at Midnight ET/9pm PT and Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 9pm ET/6pm PT. Filmed in front of live audience at Toronto’s breathtaking Church of the Redeemer, A Christmas Carol Holiday Special brings together some of Canada’s most prominent actors, singers and musicians including world renowned pianist David Warrack. It’s a not-to-be-missed special event. Add to that sensational new specials featuring masterful violinist André Rieu, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and The Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble in the timeless classic, The Nutcracker, and the sounds and sights of the season on VisionTV are set to be better and brighter than ever before.

Along with several new additions to our Four Weeks of Christmas line up, we’ve packed this season’s schedule with as many much-loved holiday gems as our Santa’s sack can hold. Scrooge, the Oscar-nominated 1970 musical recounting of A Christmas Carol won it’s star, Albert Finney, a Golden Globe. Also watch for magical star turns from Whoopi Goldberg, Leslie Nielsen and Jason Alexander in other Christmas movies on our schedule.

On the British side, look for hilarious special episodes of Are You Being Served, Miranda, Absolutely Fabulous, Jam & Jerusalem, The Vicar of Dibley and Yes Minister. New for this year is the BBC’s wry and charmingly funny A Child’s Christmases in Wales, covering three chaotic Christmases in the lives of one Welsh family.
