While we continue to adjust to living our lives much closer to home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to keep testing out new ways to keep our minds and bodies engaged during this time. Sticking to a routine while allowing some room for spontaneity is crucial, so take a look at some of these activities highlighted in recent ZNews reports and more to keep you learning, growing and entertained while stuck at home.

1. Gardening for Exercise

If you’re a fan of our relaxing and beautiful gardening series Ageless Gardens, you know all about the many benefits gardening can bring for the mind and body. ZNews’ Sean Stante had a chat with ZoomerRadio’s gardening expert Charlie Dobbin to give tips on getting your garden started, no matter your level of expertise. This segment was originally produced last year prior to physical distancing regulations. However, garden centres are among the first businesses slated to re-open with safety precautions.

2. Healthy Eating

It’s easy to fall into bad habits when we’re feeling anxious, so why not try making some new and exciting meals that will leave you feeling healthy and energized. Check out Zoomer Magazine’s tips on eating healthy at home and recipes for spring cleaning your diet!

Every once in a while though, there’s nothing better to feed your supper soul than a homemade pizza.

3. Spring Cleaning

Home improvement activities are a big focus during quarantine, but they can also make us feel overwhelmed when we think about all the work ahead of us. Professional organizer Jane Veldhoven is leading the way for two families in desperate need of guidance to tidy up and prepare to move on The Big Downsize Mondays at 9pm ET. Check out some of her spring cleaning tips to help you get started on clearing out that pile of old stuff!

4. Boost Your Mental and Physical Health with Exercise

Another great way to manage your mental health, as well as your physical health is combining the power of exercise and mindful meditation. ZNews’ Sean Stante checks in with Healing Yoga‘s host Deborah Devine for tips on using yoga to help us relax and stay positive during this time. Enjoy Healing Yoga every day at 6:00am ET or on our sister station dedicated to healthy living, ONE, at 6:30 & 8:30am and 6:00pm ET.

Sean also connected with ONE’s Anjelica Scannura, host of Anjelica’s 22 Minute Workout on ONE, daily at 7:30am & 7pm ET, and VisionTV, weekdays at 6:30am ET and Anjelica’s Dance Workout on ONE for some tips on getting off the couch to work up a sweat, burn some calories and have some retro fun doing it.

5. Music to Inspire You
