Calling all urban explorers and enthusiasts!

The Zoomerplex, our headquarters in Toronto, is open for Doors Open Saturday May, 27 and Sunday, May 28 from 10AM to 5PM each day. We’re located at 70 Jefferson Avenue in the heart of downtown Toronto’s vibrant and historic Liberty Village.

Doors Open Toronto is a free weekend-long celebration of architecture and public space taking place Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28 and features more than 150 sites for exploration, a talk series, and walking tours. Our colleagues at the New Classical FM chatted with Kristine Williamson, Programming Supervisor, City Cultural Events for the City of Toronto for an overview of what you can look forward to this year. Visit our MZTV Museum of Television and see Moses Znaimer’s amazing collection of vintage TV sets including the rarest set on the planet from the 1939 New York World’s Fair, sets owned by Elvis and Marilyn Monroe, Felix The Cat – The First Star of Television and Speaker’s Corner. See exhibits honouring the groundbreaking work of John Logie Baird, The First Father of Television and Philo T. Farnsworth in Forgotten Genius: The Boy Who Invented Electronic Television.

Find out what happens in Zoomer Hall, the home to live concerts, town halls, political debates, film screenings, Your All-Time Classic Hit Parade, theZoomer, Healing Yoga with Deborah Devine, and Anjelica Scannura’s new series The Pilates Pupil for ONETV.

Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of your favorite radio stations? Get ready to find out as we open the doors to the fascinating world of broadcasting at Zoomer Radio and the New Classical FM. Get up close and personal with state-of-the-art equipment, see first-hand how the music and talk comes together, meet your favourite radio jocks, and get a chance to be on air!

The theme of this year’s Doors Open Toronto is The City of Sound and what better way to get into the spirit than with a live to air concert in Zoomer Hall on Sunday, May 28 featuring Toronto’s own Payadora ensemble! Payadora presents music drawing from Argentinian/Uruguayan Tango and Folk roots and is a concert the whole family can enjoy. Click here to RSVP for free tickets!

Also while you’re visiting our Zoomerplex for Doors Open, pick up your complimentary copy of the new issue of Zoomer Magazine, take your picture and get a souvenir ZoomerMedia print and enjoy a free soft ice cream cone from GTA Softee between 11AM and 5PM on both Saturday and Sunday.
