Anne with an E is a coming-of-age story about an outsider who, against all odds and many challenges, fights for love and acceptance and her place in the world.
In a new adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic, beloved Canadian novel, Anne of Green Gables, first published in 1908, Amybeth McNulty stars as the teenage orphan girl, Anne Shirley, who is mistakenly sent to Avonlea, Prince Edward Island in the 1890’s to live with an aging brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, on their farm. There, the spirited, imaginative and intelligent Anne will help transform her new family’s lives and those of everyone in her small, turn of the century town.
Anne with an E also stars Geraldine James as Marilla Cuthbert, R.H. Thomson as Matthew Cuthbert, Dalila Bela as Diana Barry, Lucas J. Zumann as Gilbert Blythe, Aymeric Jett Montaz as Jerry Baynard, Corrine Koslo as Rachel Lynde, Dalmar Abuzeid as “Bash” Lacroix, Joanna Douglas as Miss Stacy and Kiawenti:IO Tarbell as Ka’kwet.
A feature length version of the first two episodes of Anne with an E will premiere Saturday, July 18 at 4pm ET / 1 PT.
