An exquisite concert of carols and seasonal classics performed by the Mozart Festival Orchestra and Chorus at London’s elegant Royal Albert Hall. Featuring the orchestra dressed in full 18th century costume and filmed in an evocative candle-lit style setting, Carols by Candlelight includes performances of Mozart’s Laudate Dominum, Bach’s Sleepers Awake and Vivaldi’s Gloria (first movement).

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without a selection of carols and the Chorus offers beautiful renditions of The First Nowell, Good King Wenceslas and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, among others. The evening also features actor Julian Rhind-Tutt who gives readings from Dickens and the Scriptures. A mixture of timeless music, poetry and literature, Carols by Candlelight encapsulates the spirit of Christmas.
