Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, allies herself with Julius Caesar in order to exploit the Romans’ help to control Egypt. Caesar falls in love with the beautiful Cleopatra and they are poised to form an alliance between the two empires.
Before Cleopatra and Caesar formally unite, Caesar is betrayed and murdered before the Senate. The Roman government is in chaos and Mark Anthony, the famous general and Julius Caesar’s rival, is poised to take power. Cleopatra seduces him and he becomes a slave to her affections, following her to Egypt.
