Anne Baxter and Mel Ferrer guest star as a fading actress and a Hollywood gossip columnist whose hatred of each other culminates in murder.

Mystery surrounds aging actress Nora Chandler (Baxter), who chooses to live in a small cottage in the center of a huge Hollywood studio lot after the death of her husband. She plots against gossip columnist Jerry Parks (Ferrer) but mistakenly traps her own secretary Jean Davis (Pippa Scott).

Kevin McCarthy guest stars as Dr. Frank Simmons and Frank Converse as Mr. Fallon. Legendary costume designer Edith Head guest stars as herself. Head ran the Universal Studios wardrobe department during this time. (1972)
