Johnny Cash and Ida Lupino guest star as husband and wife gospel singers whose marriage of convenience ends tragically in “Swan Song.”

Country-western-spiritualist singer Tommy Brown (Cash) threatens to quit singing if his fanatically evangelistic wife Edna (Lupino) doesn’t give him a larger share of the profits for their gospel concerts. Edna threatens blackmail, causing Brown to fake an airplane accident that eliminates Edna and her protege Maryann (Bonnie Van Dyke). Lt. Columbo investigates the alleged accident when Edna’s brother Luke (William McKinney) files a homicide complaint.
