Robert De Niro (“Raging Bull”) stars as Jimmy, a talented saxophonist who prowls post WWII Manhattan nightclub floors, sizing up his amorous prospects for the evening and ultimately setting his sights on Francine Evans (Liza Minnelli, “A Matter of Time”), a bravely independent band vocalist with the USO.
