Late last year at the height of the pandemic, the City of Toronto started a beautification project for the downtown area of Liberty Village. This “Parkette Project” was designed to add more flower boxes and park benches along selected sidewalks in the neighbourhood. However, due to weather restraints, the development of this project has currently been put on pause.
As fences block off sections of unfinished construction, it’s raised the question amongst local residents and businesses owners of “Why now?”. ZNews Videographer Sean Stante has more.
