Season 1

Episode 1



Cornwall, 1783. Ross Poldark returns from the battlefield to find his father dead, estate in ruins and sweetheart Elizabeth, engaged to his cousin. On impulse, Ross rescues young urchin Demelza and resolves to forge a new life in the face of hostile forces.

Episode 2



Ross (Aidan Turner) resolves to reopen his family mine with Francis (Kyle Soller). Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) struggles to fit in at Nampara and Verity (Ruby Bentall) makes an unsuitable match, leading to a feud between Ross and Charles (Warren Clarke) which ends in a violent showdown.

Episode 3



Ross (Aidan Turner) celebrates the opening of Wheal Leisure mine, as rumours spread of a scandalous relationship between him and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson). Francis and Elizabeth celebrate the birth of their new son, and Ross must fight to save his friend Jim (Alexander Arnold), sparring in court with Reverend Halse (Robin Ellis).

Episode 4



News of Ross (Aidan Turner) and Demelza’s (Eleanor Tomlinson) marriage spreads through the community, damaging Wheal Leisure’s prospects. Demelza is filled with anxiety when Francis (Kyle Soller) and Elizabeth (Heida Reed) invite the newlyweds to spend Christmas at Trenwith.

Episode 5



Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) gives birth, and resolves to help Verity (Ruby Bentall) reconcile with Captain Blamey (Richard Harrington). Ross (Aidan Turner) welcomes old friend Dr Dwight Enys (Luke Norris) to Cornwall, and Francis’ (Kyle Soller) persistent gambling threatens the security of all he holds dear.

Episode 6



With Jim (Alexander Arnold) gravely ill in Bodmin jail, Ross (Aidan Turner) and Dwight (Luke Norris) launch a desperate mission to save him. Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) is excited to attend a grand ball held by George (Jack Farthing) who is determined to ruin Ross and his smelting company.

Episode 7



Francis (Kyle Soller) wrongly blames Ross (Aidan Turner) for helping Verity (Ruby Bentall) elope with Andrew Blamey (Richard Harrington). Meanwhile, Mark suspects Dwight (Luke Norris) and Keren of having an affair, starting a chain of events which will have tragic consequences and threaten the safety of everyone at Nampara.

Episode 8



George (Jack Farthing) expands the Warleggan Empire, launching a new ship and bankrupting Carnmore. Ross (Aidan Turner) blames Francis (Kyle Soller), but when Francis and Elizabeth (Heida Reed) fall sick with a life threatening illness, Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) risks her own life to save them.

Season 2

Episode 1



As Ross gets ready to go to trial, his nemesis George Warleggan aims to ruin him for good. Can Ross’ friends and family rescue him, or is this his final run-in with the law?

Episode 2



Ross and Demelza attempt to get back to a normal life, but remain haunted by previous mistakes and George Warleggan's spiteful attitude.

Episode 3



With financial problems facing him, Ross becomes tempted by an intriguing offer. Meanwhile, Demelza finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Episode 4



Needing money to open a mine free of George's influence, Ross strikes a deal with a local smuggler. Meanwhile, Dwight tries to diagnose an epidemic.

Episode 5



An informant in the smuggling ring poses a serious threat to all. George buys Ross' debt in a new attempt to crush him.

Episode 6



Ross tries to support Elizabeth in a time of great struggle for her household.

Episode 7



Ross joins a smuggling trip in the Scilly Isles in order to meet Mark Daniel. This give George Warleggan an opportunity to move in on someone close to Ross.

Episode 8



Ross and Dwight stand trial for their part in the smuggling.

Episode 9



Ross closes Wheal Grace for good. Meanwhile, Elizabeth wrestles with a life-changing decision.

Episode 10



Dwight enlists in the navy to forget Caroline and Demelza visits Verity to spend some time away from Ross.

George proves merciless as the new magistrate and Clowance is christened. Ross discovers the means to help both Dwight and combat Cornwall’s famine while.

While George makes political manoeuvres at home, Ross sails to France to rescue Dwight from the French Revolution.

Drake finds himself in the Warleggans’ firing line as George moves to secure his connection to the nobility and Ross provides some local aid.

George pursues a vacant seat in Parliament as Agatha plans for her hundredth birthday and Ross is given a proposition. Meanwhile, there is a new arrival at the Whitworth vicarage.

An election threatens Truro’s status quo and as his past actions confront him, Ross senses a rival for Demelza’s affection.
