Lamia Vatan

“Lamia Vatan” (meaning – “the long journey”) is a religious half-hour program. This program aims to familiarize Canadian Sikhs with their rich and resplendent faith.  A comprehensive understanding of the core values of the Sikh Holy Scriptures (Guru Granth Sahib) is important to enable the community to adapt these into their daily lives.  A greater sense of pride in being a Sikh and what it represents is conveyed through several different segments.

A number of Canadian Sikhs trace their descendants from the earliest settlers in British Columbia. Younger generations of immigrants should thus be aware of and take pride in their past. The program also discusses social issues affecting the community and features interviews with religious/spiritual scholars. This program includes some music videos, most of which are religious in nature.
