Ethan Hawke is a magnetic screen presence as Chet Baker, the legendary trumpeter and singer who, after becoming a jazz icon in the 1950’s became equally famous for his drug addiction. Born to Be Blue, directed by Robert Budreau, reimagines Baker’s life in the late 60s after he suffers a beating that puts his musical career in doubt. With the support of his lover Jane (Carmen Ejogo), Chet struggles to stay clean and mount one of the most remarkable comebacks in history.
